The Grammys will bestow a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award to the late rock legend David Bowie and the tribute will be lead by no less than his biggest fan, Lady Gaga.
Grammys Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich said that they had already booked Lady Gaga for this year’s show but when “David passed on – almost in a single moment – we knew we had to change direction.”
“We immediatly spoke and agreed taht she should be the one to honor David. She’s perfect for it,” Ehrlich added.
Nile Rodgers, who produced Bowie’s 1983 hit album Let’s Dance, will be the musical director for the tribute.
The 2016 Grammys will be held on Monday, February 15 at 8p.m. ET and will be aired live on CBS.
