I woke up craving the culinary skills of Chef Jacques Haeringer this past Sunday. Without thinking twice, I called up one of my friends and headed out on a beautiful 10 minute drive to L’Auberge Chez Francois in Greatfalls Virginia. This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants around, and the weather was exceptional so we decided to brunch outside. Chef Jacques prepared a superb bloody mary with tomatoes grown from his garden and a special Mojito for us. I started off with a smoked Scottish salmon, dill marinated salmon and salmon rillette with capers, filets of fresh rainbow trout sautéed, crabmeat and toasted almonds, and ended with a mouth watering lemon tart.
After lunch, the chef was kind enough to give us a tour of the property and his special herb and fresh vegetable garden. What a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
