Jean Claude COCO At Philadelphia Iconic Menswear Boutique, Boyds For Their New Men’s Shoe Salon Party

Last Friday the manager of of one of Philadelphia’s most iconic department stores, Boyds Philadelphia invited me to attend the ‘Shoe Extravaganza’ opening party of of the newly renovated men’s and women’s shoe salon.  (Ha I wish Sai was there for the women’s shoe selection OMG!)

Built in 1907, 7 floors in total at 1818 Chestnut Street with its grand lobby and Corinthian marble columns, it is a National Historic Landmark.  A status bestowed onto it in 1982.

With all that history to ponder on while, faced with modern amenities/ technologies the store had to keep up with the times, hence the renovation is parts.

I really like how the new and the past came together seamlessly without taking away from the old world charm. In fact, you wouldn’t even  notice the new sparkling shoe cases which greets you at the grand stairs, walking towards the second floor men’s shoe salon. They look and feel like an extension of the shinning white marble tiles.

The shoe salon is staked with an assortment of top European designers like TOD’s, Gucci, Prada, Santoni, Lanvin, YSL, Fratelli Rossetti, Ferragamo,  DI BIANCO and American designs from Allen Edmonds (my personal favorite), To Boot New York, Eastland Made in Maine and much more.

One thing I like particularly about  a designer shoe is you can customize your order to fit and feel just how you want it.
