True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard has unveiled his astonishing muscles for the summer 2012 issue of GQ Australia.
Skarsgard, who recently lost weight for the drama Hidden, also opened up about his military background for the issue, which hits stands on September 3.
Skarsgard, who stands at 6ft 4 Alex enrolled in a Swedish military academy in his early twenties, he underwent rigorous training for 15 months.
‘We were out in the woods in the middle of the winter for 10 days,’ Skarsgard, 36, told the magazine.
‘We didn’t really have any food or any sleep. It got to a point where people started to hallucinate and, you know, talk to their weapons.
‘And cry. There was a moment where you’re, like, ‘I’m gonna die in five minutes.’
‘We were freezing cold and so tired and hungry. We came back to the barracks after 10 days and the captain said, ‘Now you’re gonna go out and run 20 miles with your backpacks.’ People f**king lost it.
‘We thought we’d be out there for another 24 hours. People were dancing back to the barracks.’
Alexander, who plays Eric Northman in the hit HBO show, also revealed some tantalising insights about working on the show, including the fact that he loves being nude on set.
‘Nudity is great,’ he said. ‘If it makes sense in the script, I really don’t care.’
Horror-thriller Hidden is out next year.
